Corten is steel with added alloys that controls the rate steel reacts with oxygen.

Corten has many large scale uses such as in ship building,

bridges and large buildings. We expect your piece to grace your place for many years.

It will arrive as a metallic colour, once in place give a light wash with soapy water

to get rid of fingerprints and any other grease or dirt. It will gradually weather over

several months. If you would like to speed this up you can fill a spray bottle

with water or weak solution of salt water/sea water and spray daily for a few weeks.

Yes, initially while the patina is forming. It is best to weather on grass or somewhere

the leaching will not stain.

Each piece will have varying tones of colour due to its industrial nature

but overall leans to a deep russet.
